Introducing myself in 3 words: Adaptive, Intuitive and Evergreen.
Analysis of Article: Arendt, Hannah: We Refugees.
Arendt offers an insight on the Jewish culture post War. The premise of this body of work showcases the negative and positive connotations within labeling, whether it be, within the frame of race, or as well the battle between words such as “refugee” and “immigrant.” What I found was very emotional was the way in which someone could pick up everything they would require for a new life, and leave behind the essence of their identity, and acquire a new, polished individual that has never had any trace of trauma or history. By doing so, an individual has this sensitivity between forgetting and embracing a culture that they would rather leave behind due to them having a better standard of living.
Below are notes and annotations I’ve made whilst reading the excerpt as I’ve found myself explaining it more in depth this way.
